Doctor Shannon Fareby is the new veterinarian in the small, idyllic Northern California lakeside town of Mintock. When ten dogs are stolen from the rescue clinic, she knows it’s a race against the clock to find them before their threatened lives come to a horrible end.

Officer Gabe Ramirez is committed to working with the Mintock police force and raising his young daughters. The town has had trouble like this before, and he is determined to recover the missing dogs quickly. When the criminals target Shannon, it only adds to the already dangerous situation.
