For a woman, approaching forty was essentially a death sentence.

Wasn’t it?

I mean, the dating pool got smaller, and the men got weirder. Because what man in his forties was unmarried? If he was unmarried, it usually wasn’t for good reason, which posed another set of problems altogether.

So never would I have thought that a weekend away at the lake would result in meeting the man of my dreams.

News flash: he’s far from forty, and not in the direction you would assume either.
